The Omega NC900HDC Juicer is a top-of-the-line masticating slow juicer with a single auger. It can be used to prepare pasta, nut butter, baby food, nut milk, sorbet, leafy greens, fruits, vegetables, and wheatgrass.

During the low-speed, dual-stage juice extraction process, the pulp is crushed and then pressed against a strainer, separating the juice from the pulp.

Omega NC900HDC Juicer Extractor and Nutrition System Creates Fruit Vegetable and Wheatgrass Juice Quiet Motor Slow Masticating Dual-Stage Extraction with Adjustable Settings, 150-Watt, Metallic

Omega NC900HDC Features

This Omega NC900HDC Juice Extractor comes with a 2-HP motor and doesn’t spin any faster than 80 RPM. This horizontal masticating juicer produces slow and steady juicing.

It features a large oval feeding chute (1 1/2" by 2 1/2") and is designed to spit out pulp automatically, making it easier for the user to make multiple glasses in a row. The unit dimensions are: 6 1⁄2 x 14 1⁄2 x 15 1⁄2 in (WxDxH).

Heat transfer from the cool-running motor to the ingredients is almost a non-factor. This ensures minimal nutrient loss in the juicing process.

Even better is that the Omega NC900HDC does a great job extracting juices from leafy greens.

Instead of speed settings, you have pressure settings. Each of the five settings sets the pressure the machine applies to the ingredients. Therefore, turning the dial to the highest setting will ensure maximum juice extraction from leaves.

As far as operational difficulty is concerned, this Omega Masticating Juicer is as straightforward as they come. You can also use it in the middle of the night without worrying about waking up everyone in the house.

What We Like

  • Efficient juice extraction – high yield
  • Solid construction
  • Juices wheatgrass
  • Quiet operation
  • 15-year warranty

What is Not Ideal

  • Not great for juicing soft fruits
  • Larger footprint than vertical juicers

How to Use the Omega NC900HDC Juicer

There are five pressure settings on the Omega NC900HDC juicer. Using the correct setting for an ingredient ensures maximum juice extraction.

The first two settings are ideal for fruits and other soft ingredients. Setting five is best if you’re looking for maximum juice extraction and smooth consistency from carrots, beets, and other root vegetables. An interesting note is that leafy greens such as wheatgrass also benefit more from the highest setting.

Last, if you want to clean up or unclog the machine, you can use the reverse function. Press the reverse button, and the juicer will usually unclog itself.

After you've finished juicing, unscrew the parts and wash them by hand or put them on the top rack of the dishwasher.

Who Is the Omega NC900HDC For?

Are you interested in a long-term investment? If that’s the case, then the Omega NC900HDC juicer machine is one of the best investments you can make, partly for its long warranty on parts and performance.

A slow juicer produces a higher juice yield than a centrifugal juicer.

Although it has been designed to make highly nutritious juices, this unit can also grind herbs, and make frozen desserts, whipping cream, and nut butter. This juicer can handle the vegetables on the keto diet.

Another category of users that might appreciate this juice extractor, even more, consists of people that live in shared apartments or those who don’t like loud noises.

Final Thoughts

I have used the Omega NC900HDC Juice Extractor for three years and am pleased with my investment.

It is well-built and uses one of the best methods – cold press extraction. The slow revolutions can squeeze the nutrients out of any ingredients. The pulp is dry, and there is little foam.

This masticating juicer also helps preserve a high nutritional value for 72 hours. Ideally, juices made using a high-speed juice machine are best consumed immediately and have a shelf life of fewer than 24 hours.

It takes a couple of times to assemble it to be able to do quickly and without using the manual as a guide. While I have only juiced fruits and vegetables, they can be used to make baby food, nut butter, sorbet, almond, or soy milk.

The only drawback to this juicer is its footprint. It takes up a fair amount of space on my countertop.

As with any purchase, what you decide to buy comes down to needs, preferences, and budget. If you plan to only juice carrots and apples, a centrifugal juicer is probably a better choice than a masticating juicer.
