The homogenizing screen is mainly used for basic food processing.

The Juicing Knob is used with fine and coarse screens and the homogenizing screen, while the Breadstick Knob is used with the breadstick screen.

Use the Soft Fruit Knob the same way you would use the Juicing Knob when juicing softer produce. The soft fruit knob has a softer spring, allowing the pulp to be ejected more easily while juicing softer produce.
Since the twin gears are not blades but rotating gears, it's best to cut hard vegetables into smaller pieces. For example, if you want to make carrot juice, cut the carrot lengthwise and in half. If needed, the wooden tamper comes in handy to push the last piece of carrot into the machine.

Who Is the Greenstar GSE-5000 For?
The Greenstar Elite 5000 is for those who will juice primarily leafy greens, celery, and wheatgrass and use the food processing capability.
However, a centrifugal juicer is the better choice if you plan to juice large quantities of carrots, beets, and apples.
Another factor to consider is the time it takes to cut the fruits and vegetables and for the juicer to extract the liquid. A centrifugal juicer will be a better option if you need to make your juice in five minutes.
If you have time, you can make a batch of juice and store it in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container (glass is best) for up to 72 hours. Making several glasses of juice at once cuts down on the cleanup time.
